New Principal for Kingsway High and Preparatory School
Kingsway High and Preparatory School has a new principal. She is Redva Martin-Ferril. Her appointment took effect on Tuesday, September 6, 2011. She succeeds Mrs. Claudette Genas who is now Women and Children's Ministries Director of the East Jamaica Conference of Seventh-day Adventists.
Mrs. Ferril, who is the eighth of ten children to Georg and Iris Martin, was born in Port Antonio, Portland. She is a product of Seventh-day Adventist Christian Education having received her Secondary School Education from the Portland High School in Port Antonio. She attended West Indies College between 1977 and 1980 where she graduated with Honours as a certified Primary Trained teacher.
Mrs. Ferril, who holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Primary Education and a Master of Arts Degree in Educational Administration from the University of the West Indies, Mona, has more than 30 years of teaching experience at the primary, secondary and tertiary levels. Her years of service include Vice Principal of the Gregory Park All-Age School in St. Catherine from 1993 – 1995 and Acting Principal of the Innswood High School from September 2008 to August 2010.
